UK-wide, 2.9 million emergency food parcels were distributed between April 2024 and April 2025 which is slightly lower than the previous year.
Bicester Foodbank gave out 4,765 food parcels which for us is a 30% drop from the previous year.
Our latest statistics actually present a mixed picture. Although the number of food parcels distributed within the past year is lower than the previous year, provision has risen sharply over the past 5 years ago, not returning to pre-pandemic levels.
Need hasn’t necessarily fallen but there is more in the way of support from other local services.
However, if planned cuts to social security go ahead, this could makes things worse.
How can the public help?
Many foodbanks are having to buy in stock to ensure that anyone who needs an emergency parcel can have one.
If anyone prefers to donate financially, those funds are used towards the purchasing of stock, or towards any additional projects we run to support specific groups of people.
We could not continue to support those who are most in need without your support!
