Tesco Community Awareness Day!
Bicester Foodbank was invited to participate in Tesco Community Awareness Day this month. This was an opportunity to raise awareness of the foodbank, whether for local families who may require some support or for local people who help by donating food items.
Emma was able to take the chance to chat to Tesco shoppers and give them a copy of the ‘shopping list’ as well as pass on vital information and signposting on how to get help.
Emma’s great work in engaging the local community lead to DOUBLE the regular donations this week and four trollies of supplies were donated by local people in Bicester. The food that is donated each week is weighed and an extra 20% in cash value is added by Tesco, which can be spent by the foodbank in the way that is most useful.
